HOW TO TIE: The Chinese Button Knot

The Chinese Button Knot is one of our favorite chinese knots and we love the different projects you can make with this knot.   It can be tied using two cord ends or one cord end depending on your design.  It can also be used as a clasp, either as a button (thus the name) or as a sliding button knot clasp.  

The button knot can be tied with a whole variety of different types of cords as well from satin cord to chinese knotting cord or even elastic cord.  

Hint:  The tightening process of the button knot can be a little confusing and tedious so if you are a beginner, we suggest using a cord 1.4MM or thicker until you feel comfortable tying the knot.
