Tatting

Tatting is the craft of lace making.  It dates back to the early 19th century and was originally used for lace edging, dollies and decorative pieces.  Tatting is achieved by the use of a shuttle (shuttle tatting) or needle (needle tatting) and recently (cro-tatting) needle tatting with a crochet hook at one end.

As tatting has become more popular, Jewelry designers and crafters alike have started making jewelry by tatting and adding beads to their tatting projects.

Both the 0.4MM and the 0.5MM size chinese knotting cords can be used to Tat.
